Official role description

Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research organisation to engage experienced therapeutic-area and clinical subject-matter experts to review physician and patient research surveys. We are seeking professionals with deep knowledge of specific disease areas who can evaluate whether survey questions, clinical terminology, treatment pathways, and response options accurately reflect real-world clinical practice and patient experience. An MD is not required. Relevant backgrounds include medical affairs, healthcare/life sciences consulting, medical writing, clinical research, pharmaceutical research, market research, scientific communications, and clinical practice. Candidates with additional experience in designing or fielding pharmaceutical market research surveys are particularly valuable.

What You’ll Do • Review physician and patient surveys for clinical and therapeutic-area accuracy. • Evaluate disease terminology, treatment pathways, therapies, clinical scenarios, and response options. • Identify inaccurate, outdated, ambiguous, or missing clinical considerations. • Ensure questions appropriately reflect physician decision-making and patient experiences. • Collaborate with survey methodologists or, where qualified, independently assess both clinical content and survey design. • Provide clear, evidence-based recommendations for improvements.

Therapeutic-Area Priorities

We are particularly interested in expertise across: • Oncology / Urologic Oncology: Prostate cancer, staging, treatment sequencing, systemic therapies, and evolving standards of care. • Gastroenterology / IBD: Ulcerative colitis, disease severity, biologics, targeted therapies, remission, and treatment pathways. • Neurology: Migraine, acute and preventive treatments, chronic vs. episodic disease, symptoms, and patient experience. • Pulmonology / Respiratory Medicine: COPD, diagnosis, treatment, and management by pulmonologists and PCPs.

Ideal Qualifications • 3+ years of professional experience within a relevant therapeutic or clinical area. • Deep understanding of the disease, treatment landscape, and real-world clinical decision-making. • Background in medical affairs, clinical research, medical writing, life sciences consulting, pharma market research, healthcare insights, or clinical practice. • Ability to identify clinically inaccurate or incomplete survey questions. • Experience with physician or patient market research is preferred but not required. • Strong written communication and analytical judgment. • MD or clinical degree is welcome but not required.

Why Join • Apply therapeutic-area expertise to cutting-edge AI and healthcare research. • Improve the quality of real physician and patient research instruments. • Work across multiple disease areas with opportunities for continued engagements.
